Good to know
Most cardinal numbers in Italian stay unchanged before masculine and feminine nouns, but Uno changes form according to the noun that follows. Ordinals such as Secondo behave like adjectives and agree with the noun in gender and number.
Mille becomes -mila in multiples such as Duemila. Milione and Miliardo are masculine nouns, and both have plurals ending in -i. Metà stays unchanged in the plural and often takes an article.
