用葡萄牙语发消息和交流时，Enviar mensagem 和 Mandar mensagem 都表示发送消息，后者常用于日常口语。Trocar mensagens 表示互相发消息，也就是双方都有发送和接收。Encaminhar mensagem 则表示把消息转发给另一位接收者。

Mensagem lida 表示消息已被标记为已读，但并不说明接收者是否会回复。Gravar áudio 表示录音，Enviar áudio 则表示发送录下的声音。录音和发送是两个独立的操作，所以录音可以在发送之前就已存在。

  • 在 Mensagem lida 和 Mensagem não lida 中，过去分词与阴性单数名词保持性、数一致。否定词紧接在过去分词前面。
  • 在 Responder à mensagem 中，介词 a 与阴性冠词 a 缩合。在 Responder a mensagens 中，复数名词前没有冠词，因此不发生缩合。
  • 在 Aplicação de mensagens 和 Filtro de mensagens 中，中心名词放在前面，de mensagens 说明其用途。
